Screening of TROUBLE EVERY DAY + Post-Screening Discussion
Speed Art Museum, South 3rd Street, Louisville, KY, USA
Overview
Screening is followed by a reading and post-screening discussion by poet Iva Moore, author of Women Collapse Into / Better, Brighter Artists (Oversound, 2023).
โClaire Denisโ carnal masterpiece incisively dissects love, desire, and hungerโin this case, for flesh.โโKeith Uhlich, Time Out New York
Scientist Shane Brown (Vincent Gallo) neglects his new bride (Tricia Vessey), instead spending their honeymoon searching for an old colleague, Dr. Lรฉo Semeneau, who disappeared after a research paper he had written was discredited by the medical community.
It turns out that Dr. Sรฉmeneau is living in obscurity to protect his wife Corรฉ (Bรฉatrice Dalle), whom he keeps prisoner in a room with boards nailed across the doorway. Marauders of the psyche and disturbed moral compasses figure in this frequently bloody fever dream. With a haunting score by Tindersticks.
2001, France, new 35mm print, in English, 101 minutes.
